How Do I Beat the Heat?

It's getting hot in here...

Waiting for the big-block.

How can I possibly get anything done in this heat...

So, I've finally gotten accustomed to our ever increasing fuel prices these days. Ok-that's fine and I can deal with that. But, this heat is another story altogether. I'm not sure of where you are from, but here in Los Angeles, temperatures are in the triple digits. Over the weekend we saw 110 degress easy. I even say 101 degrees after ten o'clcok p.m. On Sunday, I hunkered down in the pool and let the water do its job and kept myself off of the streets and out of my car. Besides, I hate driving in super-heated weather. The car is slower and with the A/C cranking...it's even slower. I couldn't even attempt to work on the project El Camino for fear of heat stroke and a nasty sunburn on my neck. Heck, if I had left some wrenches out in the sun while I was working on the car, I would have surely scalded my hand in an attempt to pick them up.

I don't know, this heat is bad for my project car time. What are some of the things that you do when you can't work on your project car? I'd like to hear them, at least I can stay inside and read the comments on the computer--stay out of the heat.
