2008 Corvette Funfest

Effingham, IL – Join Mid America Motorworks for the ultimate customer appreciation party, Corvette Funfest September 19-21, 2008! Hosted every year by Mid America Motorworks as a way of saying “thank-you” to our Corvette customers, Corvette Funfest is held at Mid America Motorworks 150-acre corporate campus in Effingham, Illinois. This FREE event is one of the largest Corvette Gatherings in the world. Over 15,000 Corvettes and over 45,000 Corvette Enthusiasts participated in Corvette Funfest 2007. 

This year Mid America Motorworks will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Corvette Challenge Race Series. Twenty years ago the Challenge Race Series was born out of the dominance of Corvette in the SCCA Racing Series. Funfest attendees will have the chance to meet the drivers, team owners and significant figures that put the excitement in this period of Corvette Racing history.

Mid America Motorworks will also be honoring the 8’s in ’08. All 58’s, 68’s, 78’s, 88’s, 98’s, and 08’s will have a special row of parking for each year. Special display parking will be available to 78’ Pace Cars and 88’ 35th Anniversary Corvettes. First come, first serve so make sure and reserve your spot today and receive a special parking pass. 

Mid America Motorworks also invites all Corvette Clubs to reserve their spots in the free club parking area. Reservations must be in by September 5, 2008. What if you don’t arrive at the same time as your club members? Not a problem, as you can join them anytime in the reserved location.

The sounds of “high-octane country” will complement this year’s celebration of the classic American sports car.  One of the heartland's best, Matt Poss & Rolling thunder will be taking the stage for a free concert on Saturday, September 20th. The St. Louis River Front Times describes Matt as “another link in the great chain of heartland rocker’s…a hybrid caught between Mellencamp and Steve Earle with shots of Tom Petty and Jimmy Martin in equal measure.” In 2006 The Chicago Tribune grouped Poss with “Shooter Jennings, Hank III, and Kevin Fowler” as part of “a new crop of rising country outlaws.”

Mid America Motorworks is also giving you 50,000 reasons to spend the
