It sounded like another dose of doom and gloom—a radio news reports stating that millions fewer drivers would be hitting the road during the Fourth of July weekend. Actually, I only listened to the teaser for said news report before plugging in my iPod and drowning out the latest ill tidings with some Stevie Ray Vaughn. It's not millions; in fact, the AAA Newsroom reported that highway travel would decrease by 1.2 percent, from 34.6 million to 34.2 million (Click Here). In sunny, hot, and smoky So Cal, the drop in people hitting the road is expected to be eight-tenths of a percent (Click Here). So what does it all mean? Besides the fact that I’ll probably be sitting in as much traffic as usual on my way home, that is? In a nutshell, it’s a big holiday weekend, and a lot of you are determined to get out and about and enjoy it, gas prices be damned. To that I say, play hard, play safe, and enjoy. Later.
