When it comes to writing, I do what I can in an attempt to get my point across without it sounding overly done, or like I'm trying too hard. Its just car tech. Usually though, I shoot from the hip utilizing a free-style type of writing method. It’s in this method of writing where I can rapidly fire my ideas down on paper first. Then, worry about piecing it all together later. I have this habit of forgetting things (ideas and/or thoughts) easily. No matter where I am during the writing process I’ll stop what I was writing and scribble my spontaneous thought wherever I can find space on paper. That way, it (the thought) is there for me to grab later.
Do I have any sort of formal training when it comes to writing? Well, no. Not really. What is “formal” anyway? Is it the way we “dress” words? I don’t know. I do feel however that I do have some sort of grasp on the English language. I try and stray away from confusing terminology and try to lay it out using street-friendly jargon. Let’s be honest here folks, we aren’t politicians here and im not writing a peace treaty. Take for example, the Bill of Rights. Have you read that thing lately? I haven’t, but for good reason. It’s got to be the most confusing piece of literary work I have ever seen—hands down.
I feel it’s always easier to just slam everything down on paper immediately instead of having any sort of forethought. If you think about it, what’s the worst that can happen? Erase it, delete it, whatever. Just do it again.
Our society these days hasn’t put forth the effort in writing or even communicating in general. That is the essence of writing—communicating. Our society puts an emphasis on so many other things that communicating through writing takes a back seat. Think of all the wars and problems in this world that have been caused from some sort of miscommunication, either by word of mouth or from simple print. Most, if not all could have been averted. Write and write well.
