SMOY--a Chevy or nothin'

I’ll have a few comments about and observations on the recent Goodguys 11th PPG Nationals as the week goes on and I recover from jet lag and my trip to the Waffle House, but for now, it's certainly worth noting that the Street Machine of the Year had to be a Chevy--literally. When the field of 28 contestants was winnowed down, the five finalists all were Bow Ties: Kevin Alstott's ’68 Camaro, Gary Abraham's ’70 Nova,  Jeff Hanson's ’69 Camaro, James McLeod's ’69 Camaro Convertible, and the winner: Erv Woller’s ’69 Camaro, which he calls “RAZOR.”

Specs follow, but suffice it to say that this was the year of the Camaro. Just when we thought the popularity of first-gens had peaked, up it goes again.
