I THOUGHT TODAY WAS TUESDAY

Sometimes we just all lose track of time

Tomorrow is Friday?

I had an interesting conversation with Henry D this morning as we were doing the usual walk-down to the local coffee shop on Wilshire blvd. Like usual, we discuss what stories we are working on and where we might be for different photo shoots during the week. Today was completely weird though and I was embarrassed during the following moments. I guess it just goes to show how hectic our schedules really are. As we were walking, talking and sipping our morning Joe’s, Henry had mentioned that he was going to shoot a car for an upcoming feature. I asked him, “Weren’t you going to do that on Friday?” Henry responded with, “Tomorrow is Friday!” I almost stumbled and fell right there on the sidewalk. His response sent me confused and surprised all at the same time. My heart raced and my mind went spinning into a bazillion miles an hour. Immediately I began to question myself. What was today? Isn’t today Tuesday? So the first thing I did was ask Henry what today was. “It’s Thursday” he said. You could see it in Henry’s eyes and hear it in his voice—he must have thought I was kidding and didn’t believe me. He began to laugh uneasily and then I quickly realized that this was no joke. As we entered the elevators I even went as far to ask a building tenant what the day was. He also, responded with, “Thursday.” Today was Thursday and I had somehow lost two days—I was shocked. I still haven’t found where those days went and frankly there isn’t much I can do about it now. It’s just a helpless feeling I experienced this morning and almost frightening the more I think about it.
