Add a touch of nostalgia to your office or garage with one of these cool Mr.Bibendum (aka Michelin Man) Resin Figures from Coker Tire
Chattanooga, Tenn. (June, 2008) – This year Bibendum the Michelin Man celebrates his 110 birthday, and is celebrated around the world as an icon and one of the oldest trademarks in existence. Coker Tire is the exclusive source for officially licensed Michelin heritage and culture collectibles and vintage-style branded products. Several new Mr. Bibendum items have been added to the catalog for 2008, including these four Collector’s Series figures that represent different periods of the iconic tire mascot.
During the 1920s, Michelin distributed resin Bibendum statues to its US dealers that were intended to welcome customers to the stores. As the first in our Bibendum Collector's Series, we've faithfully reproduced this figure in a mold made from an actual original and given it a hand-painted antique finish. Standing approximately 32" tall and 16" wide, this poly-resin Bib is destined to become a collectible in its own right. The second addition to the Bibendum Collector's Series finds Bib sitting and proudly holding a wrench proclaiming his love for all things automotive.
Number three in the series features the Michelin Man in one of the most famous and recognized poses from all of Michelin's promotional history. This magnificent 13 inch tall resin Bib stands proudly and confidently with chest out displaying his Michelin sash while standing on a legendary Michelin Double Rivet tire. The fourth addition series is a modified version of the European truck topper Bibendum figure. The truck topper Bib figure, usually made of plastic, was commonly found mounted atop Michelin delivery trucks or company vehicles during the 1960s through the early 90s. The “Bib Sitting on Tire Stack” features a unique design that incorporates a stack of real miniature Michelin Double Rivet vintage tires. The figure itself is solid poly-resin and measures 15 1/2 inches tall by 12 inches wide elbow to elbow. Made in the USA each piece receives a hand painted, antique finish assuring that no two are exactly alike.
