It's simple in nature, spin tires, create friction and induce smoke--everywhere! Most of the time, us "car-guys" can resist spinning the tires while under normal driving circumstances. however, when the opportunity does present itself we are all for it.
My brothers tires on his Trailblazer SS were wearing thin and he needed new ones so what better thing to do, than to completely annihilate the ones already on the rims. My brother, Scott had the biggest grin on his face. I don't know if it was because I was going to "document" the process with my Canon 10D, or because he was doing something completely illegal. Anyway, Henry D ran back towards the driveway in fear of an immediate SWAT team attack. Yes, that's right, I said Henry was there. Scott set up his truck, pointed it straight and punched out with full brakes. The truck sat there and the tires melted. Smoke was everywhere and it was then that I realized how long it had been since I had seen a live burnout. It was great--pure excitement. I don't know if it was the sight, the smell, or the sounds. It could of been a whole combination of the three. Neighborhooed kids came running out to see what all the smoke was from and cheered in joy calling for another round! We thought it would be best to leave it at that. Either way, it was cool, and now my brother has some new tires. Can't wait until he runs through these ones.
