DRAG STRIP

Yes, even race tracks die sometimes...

I hate to admit it, but I do miss our local drag strip in the high desert of Palmdale, California (L.A.C.R.). It didn't have the best of facilities and the nearest shade could be found miles away in the mountains under a pine tree. But, it was close enough for Friday night grudge matches and cheap fun. Now, its a huge gravel pit--taken over by an excavating company. What spawned this whole rant? Well, I was going through some old photos and found ones that I had taken on the very last day of its closure. It was actually kind of depressing for a moment. It's sad to say the least.

FINAL PASS

Like I said, it wasn't the greatest facitlity but at least we had a track that was fairly close. Oh well, times change. Ever had any tracks close in your area? If so, we would love to hear about them.
