I've Got Boost On My Mind

Turbo Applications

Have you ever driven or even taken a ride in a boosted car?

I've driven a number of supercharged cars in the past and my former drag car had a Paxton Novi 2000 pushing well over 22 psi in a V-8 and what a rush that was. The best way to describe it - that combination would plant you in the seat as it pulled all the way through the quarter-mile, trapping well over 139 mph.

Now, when it comes to turbo applications; I'm no rookie, but my experience with them is minimal when compared to superchargers. Is it a rage? It's hard to say, but seriously what's the big deal with turbos?

I think I know. The other week, I took a ride in a GMC Typhoon that the FNG borrowed. Not exactly a race car, but man could it pack a punch with its upgraded turbo and meth injection. At 13 psi, the thing would scoot and the look on peoples faces when the air was forced out of the bypass valve - that was priceless.

I have to admit, I'm sold on them. That said, would you like to see us include more turbo tech?
