Gm Performance Parts announced new LSX376 & LSX 454 crate engines!

LAS VEGAS – GM Performance Parts (GMPP) announces the first pair of crate engines based on the ground-breaking LSX Bowtie block: the LSX376 and LSX454. The LSX Bowtie block is the foundation of GMPP’s LSX line of extreme-performance components, which is designed to support high-horsepower LS engine combinations that are suitable for the street or racing applications.

The LSX376 and LSX454 make great choices for vintage cars, late-model performers, drag racers and even off-roaders. They are built with premium components that exceed the capabilities of production-based parts and are manufactured to GM production engine standards.

The new crate engines leverage the design, development and testing expertise of GM’s LS engine program, but take it to the next level with premium, racing-caliber components that support greater power and deliver exceptional durability. They join GMPP’s production-based LS crate engines and engine controllers to comprise the industry’s most complete lineup of LS engines, components and systems.

No other aftermarket manufacturer offers a comparable range or has the developmental experience of GM’s engineers when it comes to LS performance.

LSX376 details
The LSX376 (part number 19171049) is an affordable performer that’s suitable for a variety of classic and racing applications. It combines the economical and strong LSX Bowtie block with the production LS3 engine’s high-flow, L92-style cylinder heads and camshaft. Unique, forged-aluminum LSX pistons also are part of the assembly. Unique LSX376-logo valve covers distinguish the new crate engine.

When fitted with a production LS3 intake manifold and injection system, the LSX376 is capable of producing approximately 450 horsepower (335 kW) and 430 lb.-ft. of torque (583 Nm). It can also be fitted with a carbureted induction system that can be tuned for greater power. The manifold and carburetor are available from GMPP.

LSX454
The new LSX454 crate engine (part number 19166972) revives a classic Chevy engine designation and brings it to the LSX engine family. It uses the LSX Bowtie block, along with an all-forged, super-tough rotating assembly and a pair of GMPP’s new, deep-breathing LSX six-bolt cylinder heads. It is topped with a high-rise intake manifold and four-barrel carburetor.

The new LSX six-bolt cylinder heads are based on the racing-derived LS7 heads that help deliver more than 500 horsepower in the Corvette Z06. They enable tremendous low-end torque and great high-rpm power. The LSX454 is rated at 620 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque.

The LSX454 is delivered in Deluxe form, so it includes everything from the carburetor to the water pump. It also comes dressed with great-looking, all-new orange powder-coated valve covers with “LSX454” logos engraved and painted black.

GMPP tested the LSX454 combination on Reggie Jackson’s custom 1969 Camaro – a previous SEMA Show star – which showcased the possibilities of high 10s in the quarter-mile and good fuel economy.

The LSX376 and LSX454 are new, powerful additions to the GMPP crate engine lineup. They’re the first LSX-based crate engines and only hint at the unlimited possibilities of the LSX portfolio.
