The other day, while at a shop for a photo shoot, I offered to run and go get lunch for the guys. As I drove down the street, traffic began to back up and by the time I had gotten to the signal, it was apparent as to why it had been bumper to bumper. A bread delivery truck lay on its side and police were already on scene. What the heck happened here I wondered? I guess the driver was a bit late on the light, or possibly may have been going way too fast as he approached the intersection at triple-digit speeds. It reminds me of the final scenes leading up the end of Terminator 2 as the gang and Schwarzenegger jump into that SWAT delivery-type truck and get chased down the freeway as a Police helicopter slams into the back of it. I don’t know, I didn’t see our governor anywhere and the T1000 wasn’t anywhere on scene either. I do however wonder about all that bread in there. Does the clean up crew for the accident scene put the crashed-bread onto another working delivery truck? Or, is it part of the evidence file, stashed away to grow and collect mold in an L.A. Police department evidence locker? Hmm. I also am curious to know if it was just packaged sandwich bread, or it was the real snazzy French roll type that’s crunchy on the outside but all warm and fluffy on the inside. Whatever the case may be, bread was wasted and someone didn’t get to enjoy their sandwich. I’ll take a carne asada taco over a sandwich any day though.
