Gas is down and my tank is up…

I don’t know about you, but for me I only put twenty dollars worth of gas in my car. Maybe I’m stubborn. But, I hate having a full tank of gas unless I’m getting ready for a long road trip. I just don’t see the point in topping off fuel if the prices never seem to stay steady. One day you could put gas in your car and get 4 gallons worth of fuel, and then the very next day, prices go down? They are always fluctuating and for me, it just doesn’t make sense. Additionally, I hate knowing I have all that gas in there. It literally burns a hole (in the tank) and I actually drive more often if I know I have gas. But, like me, if you never have any gas, you are probably less likely to drive anywhere—you really have to think, “Do I really need to drive?” another point, think of all the extra weight you are toting around with all that gas. I can’t help but think it makes my car slower if someone decides to third-lane me on the streets or I need to make a quick pass for the freeway on-ramp.

Recently, my twenty-dollar fill-up has only been getting me a couple gallons worth of fuel—not even a half tank which is cool in the weight-savings department, however, I do commute quite a bit so there is a fine line between too much fuel and not enough. Finally though, 91 octane is down below two dollars a gallon. That’s great! My twenty dollars is going so much further now. With my 14.7 gallon tank, it gets me nearly three-quarters full. That means more trips to and from work for less money and more fuel.
