The Goodguys will be running the Street Challenge AutoCross at eleven events across the nation in 2009.

Registered participants will have the opportunity to put their Street Rod or Street Machine through the paces to test their driving skills and see how their car handles in a performance situation.

The course will be laid out inside the event venue and will have plenty of turns & curves to test even the best tuned suspension. Air Ride Technologies has been at every autocross, and can’t wait for the 2009 season to get started. Still not sure if you want to try, go talk to Air Ride, They will show you how much fun it is! Did I mention one winner will take home the award and a new set of BF Goodrich Tires at each event.

For anyone who has not heard of this event, you might be asking, What is an AutoCross? Probably the least expensive means to get involved with motorsports. AutoCrosses are held most weekends around the country. AutoCrosses are held in big wide open parking lots. A course is set up using orange pylons, and a driver then negotiates the course, as quickly as possible. Each car is timed, and hitting cones will result in time penalties.

AutoCross events are “Time Trial” style competitions; there is no wheel to wheel racing involved, as cars are sent out one at a time. In general, a course is laid out using traffic cones; time penalties will be charged for disturbing cones. or in other words way more fun than your average car show ! Leave that lawn chair at home , get out and see what your hotrod is made of!
