After the primer was applied, guide coat, and block sanding...I won't be licking my fingers anytime soon...

I'll tell you what. I've got a completely new understanding and respect for the auto body industry. I have always been a supporter of getting out there and getting it done yourself. So, it was about time I set the camera down and got down and dirty. I had no problem finding a rhythm as I found myself digging my bare fingers into some 80 grit sand paper. The guys at the shop weren't really up for allowing me to block sand on my own. In reality, I don't really think I had much confidence in myself to do it anyway.

FINGER LICKIN' GOOD

My task at hand? I was told to attack the door jams and the tail gate area. After about five minutes of sanding, it was obvious why I was given this job. My fingers were wrenching with pain, and the sand paper was digging into to every crevice and cuticle on each finger. It hurt...I admit that. After a while though, the pain began to dull as the nerves in my fingers lost feeling all together. Oh well, part of the job I guess.

So, where does the cars progress land now? Well, for the most part, all of the major block sanding has been done on the car body's. Another coat of primer will be added and then we will get back to block sanding again. However, this time it will be with a finer 320 grit sand paper--a little easier on the hands.
