Sometimes on the road, we (CHP staff) find ourselves at local coffee shops or even the International House of Pancakes (IHOP). Usually, to be traffic we load up the vehicles super early and make our way to the destination and grab a bite to each. Such was the case earlier this year when Henry D, Jerry Pitt (editorial director) and KJ Jones (tech editor 5.0 Mustang) all jammed out to El Segundo, California for an annual three-day conference. It was there, possibly in boredom that the camera phones were busted out to see which could produce the highest quality picture. Henry broke out his Blackberry as did KJ to snap a picture of a drip from the syrup dispenser. As they fumbled through their phone camera options to obtain the best picture I wasn't worried. I broke out my trusty Verizon Envy like a hot-shoe western gun-slinger and fired away--trigger happy. As they scrolled through their blurry pictures I opened my phone like a clam-shell to reveal my larger screen. And, there it was. A clean picture where, if you zoomed in, could actually see the reflection of myself in the droplet. Needless to say I put the competiton to rest and ate my pancakes with a victorious smile. Maybe next time guys. For now, my camera phone reigns supreme.
