In our secret skunkworks lab, we've been putting a new 598ci combination together for Artis Houston's small-radial packing '71 Nova.
Thanks to Jason Pettis of Pettis Performance in Hesperia, California we have our new bullet built and fresh off the dyno; all of which will be shown as a complete build in the pages of Chevy High Performance.
I will say we're running a similar short-block to the previous combination, utilizing a Dart tall deck block, Kellogg crankshaft, GRP aluminum rods, JE Pistons with Total Seal rings, Moroso external oil pump and pan combination, Comp Cams 55mm camshaft, and a Jesel belt drive.
Up top, we've made the switch to a Hogan's Racing Manifold with a three stage Edelbrock nitrous system plumbed by Steve Johnson of Induction Solutions, and a set of Edelbrock Victor 24's that are absolutely incredible.
While I won't disclose all of the information, I will say that it made well over 1,000hp on the motor alone and if all goes well, you can expect to see us at this weekends PSCA event at the Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, California.
If you can't make it, we'll have in car video's for you shortly with our GoPro camera! Stay tuned for the latest updates!
