Well now you've gone and done it again. If you are anything like me, you either forget where you have placed parts you have been saving for the car or you have completely thrown them out by accident. In my case, I accidentally threw away the pitman arm for the steering of my '66 El Camino (Project Brutus). I was in desperate need of one and figured my local auto parts chain (Auto Zone) would have one. Unfortunately, this is a non-wear item which basically means that they do not carry them. You see, pitman arms have nothing in/on them like a ball joint that would eventually wear out. To be honest, I would be hard pressed to find one for cheap.
Eventually I made some well placed calls and found what I had been looking for. Mike's Chevy Only Parts in Chatsworth, CA had what I needed. I rummaged through their bin of old steering parts and arms and viola! There laying was a labeled '64-67 non-power steering pitman arm. Best part is it only cost me $45 bucks and I had it to install that day!
