Cruising To Vegas Car Guy Style

If you're looking for something to do on the weekend of March 19th, then look no further than here.


The editors of Chevy High Performance and Super Chevy are planning to "Cruise To Vegas" for the Super Chevy Show in conjunction with Original Parts Group on Friday, March 19th.

OPG

The plan is to meet up at OPG (Original Parts Group, 1770 Saturn Way, Seal Beach, CA 90740) at 10 in the morning, where we'll all leave together an hour later. We're looking at a  five and a half hour drive and expecting to arrive at at Las Vegas Motor Speedway by 4:30 in the afternoon.

For those of you planning to drag race and join the cruise with your rigs, LVMS will be open and allow you to drop off your trailers. Keep in mind a Test and Tune session will be available that evening.


The following morning, the editors will be walking the show and participating in the autocross event, which is explained in detail below:
Autocross Details:

Who: Open to amateur and competitive Autocross participants

What: Inaugural Super Chevy Show Autocross

When: Saturday & Sunday, March 20 & 21, 2010

Where: Super Chevy Show - The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

How Much: $45 includes entry to a judged Car Show class as well

Course: Layout and on-site production will be handled by the Las Vegas Region of the SCCA

Times: Competition each day Saturday and Sunday; course open 10:00am - 3:30pm Mary Pozzi will host a course walk thru at the start of each day for participant tips

Classes: Novice, Open, and Ladies

Awards: Given out at the end of each day of competition (Sat & Sun) in the Awards tent

Safety: Helmet (open or closed face required), and seat belts for driver and passenger. Must be a minimum of 16 years old. If 16-18 yrs. old, parental consent required

Tires: Must meet 200 UTQG tread wear rating and above

Vehicle: All Chevy bodied or Chevy powered; Recommended pre-event inspection includes secured battery tie-down, removal of loose objects in the car or trunk, check of all proper fluid levels, no leaks or worn out belts or hoses.
