I couldn't pass up the chance to drive a twin-turbo 'vette...
When a close friend of mine messaged me and told me he was working on a C6 Corvette i didnt give put much thought into it. That is until he mentioned the twin snails lurking beneath the factory LS2 engine cover. I made quick work of my time at the gym and blasted off to Lou's Performance where the car was. At first glance I saw a Silver Z06 hunkered down in the back portion of the parking lot. However, closer inspection revealed it was only a body kit covering a base LS2 Corvette. It was low though--real low on a set of very large HRE wheels.
As the engine turned over and started there was no real excitement. sure, i was in a brand new corvette but corvette's are a dime a dozen these days. What makes this one so special was the fact that underneath hood were two turbochargers waiting to spool. Best part was it drove and sounded like a Corvette you would drive off of the lot. There was nothing too it. Smooth and quiet.
All I can say is, "Whoa!" The car drove like stock. Other than the small hint of whistling sounds the turbos were making as they spooled, and experienced Corvette enthusiast wouldn't otherwise. As much as I hate to admit, these Corvette's are a different animal.
