We've been having a lot of fun lately with our C5 Z06, but along with that fun we've also been knee deep evaluating everything from tires to suspension.
For the next round of testing, we're going to check out Wilwood Disc Brakes Superlite 6R system, featuring six piston calipers up front and four piston calipers out back with massive 14 inch rotors all around.
Before we can do this, we needed another set of wheels to gain additional clearance for the calipers. After weeks of searching for the perfect design, we ordered up a set of Mesh series wheels from Boze Alloys in Huntington Beach, CA.
The three piece 18x10/18x11 front/rear Mesh wheels are from Boze Alloys' ZE Forged line and offered with plenty of options. In our case, we wanted the front face to have a dark silver powder coated finish to resemble the factory Z06 wheels and topped it off with a polished lip.
To wrap our new gems, we sized up a set of BFGoodrich KDW's. While the thought up going big sounded appealing, we decided to stay close to the factory offerings with the 295/35R18 for the rears. Up front, we went slightly wider with a 275/35R18 over the original 265's.
Check back next week, we'll give you behind the scenes look at the final install and when you can expect to read all about it!
