Galpin Auto Sports shows off its newest muscle car...

Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, Southern California-based custom automotive shop, Galpin Auto Sports (GAS), announced that it will exhibit more than 20 project cars at the Los Angeles Auto Show, 11 of which have never been seen by the public before.

This year’s display, covering more than 7,000 sq. feet, in Kentia Hall offers a look into a body of work that led DUB Magazine to honor GAS as “Custom Shop of 2010.” GAS will also showcase the restored vintage Ed Roth hot rod recreation called ‘Mysterion’ that was billed as the wildest show car of the 1960’s, and 1967 Chevelle resto-mod that was built from the ground up and upgraded with a R&R-built 572 cubic-inch engine and 9-inch rear-end that now puts out an aggressive 720 horsepower.

The owner of ROB B Salon in Studio City, Calif., Robbie Schaeffer, looked for a shop that could give his Chevy impressive horsepower and a unique look. Among an extensive list of modifications, low-profile racing tired were fitted to 20" rear and 18" front gloss-black Foose Design Rims and dual Xenon headlights were installed.

GAS pulled inspiration for the Chevelle from its long-line of customization and restoration builds to incorporate a one-off Chevy that includes:

• 720 horsepower R&R-built 572 cubic-inch engine and 9-inch rear-end
• Sanderson Headers/ FlowMaster custom 3" exhaust
• 4-wheel Wilwood Disc Brakes
• Custom-built  30-gallon fuel cell
• Replacement Ididit steering column with tilt
• Four black leather Recaro-style seats finished in grey suede
• Upgraded dash with custom Autometer gauges and ambient lighting
• Customized JL Audio System

GAS will showcase the custom vehicles in Kentia Hall and also represent the Aston Martin brand in the Concourse Hall for the duration of the show. The Los Angeles Auto Show runs from Nov. 19-28 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and press days are Nov. 17-18.
