Axalta Coating Systems, formerly DuPont

For those that are fans of DuPont's paint products, they have been purchased by a group that is changing the name to Axalta Coating Systems.

"The Carlyle Group has completed its acquisition of DuPont Performance Coatings for $4.9 billion and announced today that the company is being renamed Axalta Coating Systems."

"We are excited to invest in Axalta Coating Systems and believe its strong market position and global footprint will enable the company to capitalize on opportunities in rapidly emerging markets such as China and Brazil. As experienced investors in the industrial and transportation sectors, the One Carlyle global network can help Axalta Coating Systems grow and create value,” said Martin Sumner, Principal of The Carlyle Group.

Look for a paint & body article in the July issue of CHP for more info.

I worked for DuPont. Retired from there also. They have a great product, and always did. I go back to the days of their Teflon wall paints. It was the crappiest paint you could use back in the late 60's and through the 1970's. I just hope these guys don't ruin a very good product. They started selling off their divisions in the 1980's. They went from nearly 500,000 people world wide to under 50,000 people. I don't know how many they employ now.
